About Heka Design

We don't build dependencies. We remove them.

Most digital work leaves you with something you can't run on your own. A site that needs a developer for every change, a tool nobody maintains, a deliverable that looks right at launch and becomes a problem six months later. We build the other kind.

Trusted by teams that ship
Linford Lof, founder of Heka Design

Work made by someone who cares

Linford Lof has been building for the web since 2018. He founded Heka to work on craft, directly, with the people he builds for. He still runs every project end to end: the first call, the build, the handoff, and the maintenance afterwards.

The name is deliberate. Heka is the Egyptian god of magic. A business, a product, an initiative, it all stays abstract until something makes it real. A website is often that moment. The point where an idea stops being a document and starts existing in the world.

The rest is craft. The discovery of new things, the act of building, the pleasure of a component that works properly. That's not a sales argument, it's where the quality difference comes from. You can tell it apart from work made by someone who delivers and moves on.

Values

  • Independence

One voice, no hierarchy. What you briefed is what ships, because nothing thins out on its way through an org chart.

  • Humanity

Fewer people, fewer meetings, plain answers. The speed comes from short paths, not from cutting corners.

  • Craft

Quality control isn't a stage at the end, it's who's doing the work in the first place. That doesn't get delegated.

  • Autonomy

For you and for us. You leave able to run what we built. A client is never stuck with us.

Speed and profitability have been eroding quality across this industry for years. Our reference point isn't the current market average, it's the standard the market stopped holding itself to.

Holding that line costs us work, and so does turning projects down: we don't take Web3, on ethical grounds as much as practical ones. Work with a social or ecological dimension is the kind we'd like more of. A preference, not a filter.

That's the part that's easy to say. What it changes is how every project is run.

    Mayday

Mayday is an intelligent knowledge-base SaaS for customer-service teams which needed its marketing site to express the seriousness of the product and speak precisely to each audience. Heka redesigned the key graphic elements, extended the new design direction across the full site, and rebuilt it in Webflow.

    Yaba

Yaba was leaving behind the business it had made its name in, buying and growing Amazon-based brands, to become a brand partner in longevity nutrition. The new identity was ready and part of the site was designed, but none of it was built. Heka built the whole site in Webflow, gave the new brand the movement it was designed for, and handed it over in a state the team could keep running on its own, from the blog to the open roles.

    Laiye

A large international site, hard-coded on Chinese infrastructure, was slow to reach from outside China and impossible to update without an IT ticket. Heka migrated it to Webflow inside a fixed ~3-month window, recovered the content from a site with no export path, wired the forms back into the CRM, worked with Laiye's tech team until access held on both sides of the Great Firewall, and handed the marketing team a site they could run themselves.

    Mindsay

Mindsay's site had aged, and rebuilding it was ruled out from the start. Heka took the pages one at a time instead, building each from the team's Figma designs and putting it live while the next one was being prepared. Over roughly eighteen months the site was modernised page by page, with the old foundations left where they were and the site never taken down.

Why teams choose Heka

One point of contact

Work degrades every time it passes through a layer. So there are no layers. The person who takes your brief is the person who builds it, and you see where the project stands every week.

Zero subcontracting

You should know who is touching your project. There's no agency hand-off chain and no offshore team behind this. When a specialist is brought in alongside, we tell you who and why.

Autonomy is the deliverable

A deliverable you can't run is just a new dependency. Your team gets CMS training, a documented setup, and ownership of what we built. Laiye's international site has held its structure since delivery.

Still the same person on the other end

Projects end. Most relationships didn't.

Another great collaboration with Linford. Almost a year working together now, and we fully intend to continue. Beyond the dev work, he delivers on project management and follow-through, and communication is very smooth. Thanks Linford!
